Nancy Morris, LCSW – Western & Central Nebraska

Nancy Morris, LCMSW, LMHP graduated from the University of Nebraska with her Bachelor’s degree in social work in 1990 and Master’s degree in social work in 1992. Nancy has spent her career working in the adoption field. Her first job in adoption was providing adoption search services for clients who had been adopted through an agency’s closed adoption program. Through this experience Nancy learned much from the people whom had lived closed adoption. They would tell Nancy what it was like having no information about their birth, their birth families and not having basic medical information. Birthparents would contact Nancy stating, “I can’t stand it any longer. I have to know if my child I placed for adoption is dead or alive”. This experience and many others have resulted in Nancy being an adoption profession who strongly supports open adoption.

She provided birth parent counseling, adoptive parent education, home study services, adoption search reunions, adoption related counseling and various foster care services. Nancy went on to become supervisor of the adoption program. Later in her career she joined a different agency as the Director of Social Services. That agency provided international, transracial, domestic adoptions, adoption related counseling, home study services and adoptive parent education. Nancy is one of the original founders of Adoption Consultants and serves as the Executive Director. Nancy also provides direct services for Adoption Consultants in central and western Nebraska.

Michelle and her husband are parents to two daughters adopted from China. Michelle is one of the original founders of Adoption Consultants and provides direct services to families in eastern Nebraska.
